DRIVERS are being urged to take extreme care tonight and tomorrow morning with forecasts that road temperatures are set to drop sharply to as low as minus 6C in places.
This afternoon (Tuesday January 26) the county's gritters have been sent out to salt A and B roads, approaches to hospitals and county distributor roads that feed into the main network.

But, because the Government's 'salt cell' arrangements are still in force to preserve supplies nationally, fewer roads will be salted than normal, and drivers are again urged to take great care.
