Hit and run in Chichester

Police are seeking witnesses after a hit and run driver knocked a woman off her bike.
The incident happened at about 12.15pm on the A29 Fontwell Avenue yesterday (Sunday, July 25) at the junction with Nyton Road, by the war memorial.

The 66-year-old cyclist, who comes from Eastergate near Chichester, was cycling towards the roundabout, and was struck from behind by a vehicle, believed to be a goods vehicle or small van of some sort, which did not stop.

She was taken to St Richards Hospital where she was treated for minor arm injuries but not detained.
