NUTBOURNE and Southbourne residents have expressed relief they will still be able to park on the road outside their houses.
There were concerns that because of cycle lanes being installed along the A259 from Emsworth to Chichester, several parking spaces along the Nutbourne and Southbourne stretch of the road would be lost.
Installation of cycle lanes along both sides
of the road on this route would have made parking illegal.
A county council spokesman said: "We are well aware of the parking issue in that area, and took the decision not to create cycle lanes along that stretch, so there will be no change to the current situation and no parking restrictions."
