Bognor Regis Town's under-16s have brought their time together to a winning end by lifting the Challenge Cup.
It was the team's last season together as there is no under-18 side at the club.

The players have been in touch with the Observer to say a big thank-you to their managers Russell Hill and Andy Hendrie for all their hard work – and for putting up with them.

They also thanked Barry Small, who because of his refereeing commitments could not continue as their manager.

One parent said: "The boys have played extremely well this season. Well done, Bognor Regis Town under-16s – and good luck to you all."

BOGNOR SQUAD: Keiren Bonehill, James Harris, Shane (Shakey) Stevens, Max Mills, Carl Hill, Ryan Harvey, Den Hendrie (capt), Sam Dowsell, Jack Knight, Grant Thetford, Mat Nicholas, Gary Peters, Richard Kinyua, Ryan Kill, Charlie Marshall and Jamie Crellan.

Hayling Utd 2 Predators Youth 1

Predators played in their second successive Invitation Cup final hoping to be the first team to retain the trophy.

But it was always going to be a daunting task against Hayling Utd, who have previously won the challenge cup and finished as A division runners-up twice.

Things didn't look good when Hayling scored in the first minute, but Predators upped their game and put Hayling on to the back foot.
The score remained 1-0 until half-time.

Hayling caught Predators napping again early in the second half and went 2-0 ahead.

Predators responded immediately with a penalty, won by Nathan Tucker, converted by Jake Harris, then played their best football of the season to keep Hayling camped in their penalty area.

A good claim for a second penalty after a handball was denied, and, inspired by the excellent Jack Meek and Glenn Raymond, Predators pushed for the equaliser, which seemed to have come when Spencer Robinson beat the keeper with a first-time shot from 18 yards, only to see it rebound out off the inside of the post.

Predators: Thomas, Meek, Platt, Greenfield, Francis, Toop, Harris, Brogan, Greenhill, Webb, Raymond, Tucker, Robinson, Hellyer, Lovell, Moore. Scorer: Harris.

UNDER-14

The Chichester Lions Club presented Chichester Colts under-14s with medals for representing them in the Lions' national knockout competition.

The youngsters enjoyed two good games and, though they did not win the competion, they did well and gave the event their best shot.

The team were congratulated by local Lions president Tony Harrison and the organisation's youth chairman, Richard Hall.

Predator Blues 6 Predator Parents 8

Predator Blues played a great match against their parents to cap what has been a great first season.

The parents took an early two-goal lead through Mark Hockley and Darrell McAllister.

The lads hit back to make it 2-2 with Tyler Corris and Cole Millington hitting the target.

Andy Miles beat the keeper direct from a corner to restore the parents' lead, and Darrell McAllister made it 4-2. Corris scored his second just before half-time to make it 4-3.

Jackie Millington gave away an early penalty in the second half, which Drew Miles easily scored against his ageing uncle Robbie Miles.

Michelle Miles scored an own goal to put the Blues on top. McAllister completed his hat-trick to level the score, but Ryan White put the Blues back on top.

Rod Everitt scored with five minutes left for the parents, and with only two minutes left, Andy Miles hit an unstoppable shot past Ross Louttit in goal to put the parents in front.

Roger Tester looped a shot over the keeper to make the game safe for the parents.

Predator Blues are training for next season and have already made three new signings.

Coach Miles holds training at Hampshire Avenue every Wednesday from 6pm to 7pm. Any child in Year 8 is welcome to turn up.
