MOBILITY scooters are available to hire throughout the week at a charity shop in Petersfield.
Shopmobility, in Park Road, has extended its opening hours now the winter is over to provide scooters, wheelchairs and other aids for people who need them to get about town.
The shop is run by the South Downs Association of Disabled People.
Trustee Wayne Tallon said: "You don't have to be a particular age, or have a particular medical condition.
"You just have to feel that you could do with a bit of help.
"Why struggle if you don't have to?"
All staff at the shop are unpaid, so all money received by the charity is spent on providing people with mobility scooters and ensuring they are insured for use.
Mr Tallon added: "The volunteers who operate the service are a friendly, helpful bunch and most of them have some reason to understand completely how a user feels.
"They welcome those who have questions or concerns and may even offer a cup of tea as well."
Membership to the scheme costs £5 a year.
The shop is also in need of volunteers prepared to give up three hours a month to help run the store.
