The anniversary of Dave Berkowitz's first year in charge at Nyetimber Lane was marked with a battling second-half display by the Lions to claim a precious point in a 2-2 draw with Eastbourne UA.
The high-flying visitors were cut down to earth as Pagham fought back after conceding twice in ten minutes.
The Lions scored first after four minutes. A ball in from the left saw Michael Frangou clean through and he beat Mark Oldroyd.
Eastbourne almost hit back immediately as Steve Dallaway's run caught the defence napping.
He found Lucas Mann, who headed just over.
With just over ten minutes gone, the visitors levelled. Latching on to a loose ball in the area, Simon Stevens steered the ball past Wes Hallett. Eastbourne were soon in front, a completely-unmarked Mann scoring with ease.
Kieron Urquhart's goal-line clearances and good running play from Danny Cowtan were all Pagham had to shout about.
There were more injury worries for Berkowitz on the half-hour as a hamstring injury saw Sean Towers replaced by Andy Cox.
With a re-shaped side, Pagham looked to attack. Goalmouth
scrambles were to the fore, with Andy Cox shooting just wide.
The second half started with the home side's backs to the wall.
Urquhart was again to the rescue with another header off the line.
Pagham had more steel in attack when hard-working Aaron Knight was replaced by Brett Forden.
With the extra height in the Lions' attack, EUA were starting to back-pedal under pressure.
Dan Cox shot wide from long range and Cowtan shot just over.
Forden shot at Oldroyd as the ball bounced around EUA's area and Ryan Cox headed over.
The equaliser came from the spot. Frangou was hauled down in the area and up stepped Lee Bradshaw to strike home his fifth of the season to leave a nervous last quarter-hour for the visitors.
Pagham looked solid with Bradshaw restored to centre-back.
Ryan Cox blotted his copybook with a booking for a rash tackle
before Hallett saved low down from a corner – and for Pagham, this was a point gained rather than two lost.
PAGHAM: Hallett, Urquhart, D Cox, S Towers, L Bradshaw, Booker, Peach, Parke, Cowtan, R Cox, Frangou; Cox, Forden, D Towers.
Shoreham overcame a spirited Pagham challenge to progress to the third round of the Brighton Charity Cup on Tuesday night.
Aaron Knight's opportunist strike put the Lions ahead, but two goals in five second-half minutes from sub Owen Callaghan and James Rhodes proved enough for Shoreham.
