SELECTIVE watering took place at Goodwood on Tuesday night.

Clerk of the course Seamus Buckley chose to water a short stretch inside the last mile.

After day one, when the going was good to firm, Buckley said: "We are going to put a little bit of water on the first two furlongs of the mile course.

"I've been delighted with the way it has ridden today and the jockeys have spoken highly of it, but it's just quickened up a bit there and I want to take the sting out of it."

The forecast for the rest of the week is for it to remain predominantly dry. Buckley will review the ground on Wednesday afternoon before deciding whether to water again after racing.
