AFTER recent poor weather, Chichester were forced to make the long journey to Eastbourne to play a double header. It was a good trip, too -they drew 0-0 and won 3-0.
Eastbourne are top of the form guide so Chichester knew they would have their work cut if they wanted to take the points.

The first game started brightly for Chichester, who showed their class by moving the ball around.

But it looked like the
same old story as the girls struggled to turn the possession into chances.

Eastbourne started to find their feet and pressure was applied to the Chichester goal.

In the second half, Eastbourne had a goal disallowed for a handball and Shrubb missed a clear-cut chance in front of the sticks.

The game ended goalless.

The second match saw Chichester stamp their authority on things. With the keeper injured, Streeter was forced into midfield and Thompson and Bourn went up top. This paid off as Thompson pounced on a loose ball in the box to score in the top corner.

As the midfield of Madden, Streeter, Willet and Clarke took control, Bourn added a second with a neat lob.

Legs got tired and Eastbourne pushed for a goal, but Spencer capitalised on a counter-attack to calmly slot the ball in.

The four points were well-deserved, and may jump-start Chichester's season once more.

CHICHESTER: Bernard, Paul, Maher A, Maher R, Parker, Spencer, Madden,
Willet, Streeter, Thompson, Clark, Bourn, Shrubb.
