There are wins for Chi City Colts, Bosham, Regis, Pagham Youth, Barnham Trojans, Whyke United, Whyke B and Predators in this week's youth football round-up.
UNDER-18

Ferring 5 Felpham Colts 1

Felpham's recent form counted for nothing as hosts Ferring created far more chances than Felpham in the early stages.

Ferring got their rewards - at half-time the score was 2-0 with Felpham after two scr
appy own goals.

However, Felpham scored after the restart when debutant Song opened his account for the season.

But weary legs led to Felpham again falling away towards the latter part of the game and conceding another three goals to knock them out of the Challenge Cup.

FELPHAM: Negus, Dubben, Hood, Jadzeviks, Green, Hansen, Hutchings, Ashmore, Brown, Weir, Moore. Subs Song, Robinson, Knapp.

Pulborough Pythons 4 Chichester City Colts A 8

In a game of two halves, the slope of the pitch was a major factor.

Chichester took the lead early on when Manners finished expertly with a chip over the oncoming goalkeeper.

They thought it would be a stroll in the park but Pulborough struck back with two avoidable goals.

Manners got his second to make it level but just before the break Chichester conceded another soft goal.

The second half was different, with all the pressure coming from Chichester going down the slope.

Forry equalised and McCarthy put them in front, then Groom added another from the spot to give Colts a healthy lead.

Pulborough pulled one back before Barton scored with a great strike from 25-plus yards and Groom sealed his hat-trick with two simple finishes. McGreal and Farrage made their 100th appearences.

CCC: Dubben, Croad, Madden, McGreal, Harding, Groom, Ellis, Barton, Forry, Manners, McCarthy, Farrage, House, Lochhead.

Chi City Colts B 1 Bosham 4

Bosham had most of the play in the first half of this Challenge Cup tie, but the Colts defended well and went in one up at the break.

Four minutes into the second half, it was all square when Jack Hardman fired home the first goal of his hat-trick.

Then Jack Randall's free kick from the halfway line found Hardman, who wasted no time in slotting home number two.

The Colts forced a fine save from Charlie Ames, but Bosham were having none of it and a move initiated by captain Matt Moore saw Hardman put away his third.

Minutes later, it was game over when the Colts keeper brought down Mike Webb in the area and Alex Pearce converted from the spot.

Jordan Windsor-Marvell was man of the match for his convincing performance at left back.

Bosham can look forward to a semi-final in January against Barnham Trojans or Worthing Minors Athletic.

BOSHAM: Ames, Patrick, Moore, Randall, Windsor-Marvell, Johnson, Pearce, Hardman, Grace, Evans, Fewell. Subs: Jones. Scott. Webb.

UNDER-15

Predators 3 Barnham Trojans 3

A strange but thrilling game took place at Jubilee.

Tom Ryder scored early to put Predators 1-0 up, followed by a second from Branden Skinner. Then two incidents altered the course of the match.

First, Ben Porter pulled up with a damaged ankle, and then keeper Drew Miles was found to have blood pouring from his nose.

Barnham pulled a goal back before half-time. In the second half Predators used a third keeper, and the game looked safe when Jamie Knapp added a third goal.

Predators completely switched off, allowing Barnham to pull a second goal back with 15 minutes left, and score a deserved equaliser in the last five minutes.

Man of the match was Rhys Vinsome.

UNDER-14

Worthing Rebels 1 Chichester City Colts A 2

Colts 100 per cent record was maintained in a dramatic game, and showed hunger to remain top of the league.

The lead came through Jordan Douglas' pace and strength up front, but Colts struggled to extend it as they missed key players Smyth, Cane and Rafferty.

Following a goalkeeping error, Rebels equalised. But Colts' determination proved too much, and Tom Knight converted from an almost-impossible angle and distance to give Colts the win.

Joe Hurford's solid defending earned him the star man award.

CCC: Carvalho, C. Richardson, McCue, Hurford, Game, Whibley-Conway, Knight, Chittock, Symonds, Douglas, Dowdell. Subs: W Richardson.

Lancing Rangers 0 Regis 3

Another fine team performance from Regis saw James Shea played well in defence, and Ryan Barrett in superb form, scoring twice.

Lancing came back strong in the second half but were unable to break through.

REGIS: Ainsa, Barrett, Brighten, Burgess, Charles, Charman, Gonzalez, Haines, King, Marland, Shea, Spencer, Tribe, Van Driel.

Pagham Youth 2 Worthing Dynamos 1

Pagham got back on track with a well-deserved win but were made to work hard to the final whistle.

They got off to a great start when they scored after five minutes. A great piece of play down the left involving Josh Formaggia, Robbie Strachan and Curtis Poole set up Karl Matthews.

Pagham scored again when Curtis Poole beat the keeper to a high ball into the box to make it 2-0.

This seemed to wake up Worthing and they got a goal back halfway through the first half.

Having held on to the lead until half-time, Pagham, now with the wind behind them, pushed for a third goal but couldn't take their chances.

Worthing pushed for an equaliser but Pagham keeper Ryan Carter pulled off a great save to secure the win.

PAGHAM: Carter, Lane, Southerton, Hanson, Formaggia, Garner, Edwards, Strachan, Stannard, Poole, Matthews, McLaughlin, Calderwood.

UNDER-13

Predators 0 Worthing Rebels 5

Predators can have no complaints about the result, but the scoreline was a bit harsh.

Predators never coped with the swirling wind and could not get the ball down.

Hillier and Josling were again hard-working in the middle and Stubbs and Sheed ran all day up front but without support.

Predators are looking for a couple of extra players to help in the fight towards the top of the division. If anybody is interested, training is at The Arena at 6.30pm on Mondays.

PREDATORS: Vinesome, Haven, Moore, Miles, Blackman, Hillier, Josling, Furlong, Bosco-Brown, Stubbs, Sheed, Keane, Blisset.

Midhurst and Easebourne 2 Barnham Trojans 4

Barnham took an early lead when a shot from long distance by Luke Major slipped through the Midhurst keeper's hands.

Declan Richards doubled Barnham's score with a strike from the edge of the area that struck the head of a defender and flew in.

The second half saw Barnham grab their third with Dom Baker's rasping shot. Michael Gilchrist continued the pattern of long-range goals with a fine strike.

Barnham keeper Callum Moss came out to intercept a striker and seemed to get the ball cleanly, but a penalty was awarded against him for a foul. The resulting spot kick pulled one back for the home side.

Midhurst managed to grab a second from a simple tap-in.

BARNHAM: Moss, Read, Fincham, Perkins, Richards, Mitchell, Gilchrist, Faulkner, Baker, Ormiston, Major.

UNDER-12

Felpham Colts 2 Whyke United 5

Whyke started the brightest and, with the wind behind them, had two good early chances, both saved well by the Felpham keeper.

Felpham's first attack brought a good save from Charlie Lomas. Minutes later Whyke's defence failed to clear and Felpham took advantage with a good finish.

An interception from Billy Wheeler saw him move the ball wide to Nick Berryman, who put Reiss Cunningham through to equalise.

From then, Whyke pressurised Felpham and another good move involving Alfie Elkington and Owain Webb forced a great stop from the keeper, but the rebound was followed up well by Berryman, who smashed it home.

Cunningham got hold of a loose ball for his second and Whyke's fourth stemmed from a good tackle by Josh Toop in midfield. He passed to Berryman, who split the defence with a ball to Owain Webb, and he ran on for a clinical finish.

Whyke took their foot off the gas and let Felpham in to score their second just before half-time.

The second half started with Felpham pushing Whyke hard, but the defence of Mitchell Chittock, Billy Spurway, Jordan White and Aaron Rayner kept them at bay, assisted well by Josh Toop, Connor Thair and Billy Wheeler.

Whyke were not content to stay in their own half and created further chances.

With a minute to go, Toop took advantage of a neat ball from Billy Wheeler and struck the fifth.

Man of the match was Berryman.

WHYKE: Lomas, Rayner, White, Spurway, Chittock, Thair, Toop, Wheeler, Elkington, Berryman, Webb, Cunningham.

Whyke B 1 Chi City Colts B 0

From the off, both sides were trying hard to stamp their authority on the game, but were denied by the keepers. At half-time, it was all goalless.

Whyke started the second half the better side, and it was not long before a fine goal from Tom Cherrill, with a shot which gave the keeper no chance.

George Collins struck a wonderful shot which beat the keeper but struck the bar.

Chi had their chances, one strike producing the save of the match from Whyke's Charlie Lomas.

Lancing Rangers Select 2 Chichester City Colts 1

The Colts were missing five players but put up a brave fight against the league leaders in the first round of the cup.

Declan McGreal opened the scoring for them, hooking in a Bailey Ruddick corner. The Colts, with a wind advantage, dominated the remainder of the half but couldn't stretch the lead.

The hosts started the second half brightly and equalised in a goalmouth scramble.

Bassel Wilson was unlucky not to score, from the resulting corner the Colts were awarded a penalty for handball, but it was well saved by Lancing's keeper.

Lancing scored a questionable winner when the ball appeared to be kicked out of the Colts' keepers' hands.

CCC: Swift, Brooker, Warner, Kemp, Goodall, Bramley-Ayre, McGreal, Ruddick, Wilson B, Pulleyblank, Ingram, Wilson Y.

UNDER-TEN

Predators 5 Wick Dynamos 0

The seeds of a great victory were sewn in the first minute with a route-one goal and the first of the season for Jack Blackman.

It was soon followed by number two from George Remnant and a penalty by Adam Doig. The fourth was added before half-time by Blackman.

After the break, Wick picked themselves up and forced some great saves from Stan Mitchell, but the final nail came from a great induvidal effort by Doig. Man of the match was Blackman

PREDATORS: Howe I, Howe J, White, Doig, Mitchell, Remnant, Blackman, Terry, Edwards.

West Wittering 1 Whyke A 1

This top-of-the table clash proved why these two teams are unbeaten in the league.

The match was played in good spirit but the visitors looked the more likely team to score in the first period and Wittering keeper Sam had to be alert.

Early in the second half, a deflected shot flew into the roof of the home goal.

Wittering came back with Alfie Montegue twice going close, Josh Cheeseman firing just over and Harry Standing narrowly heading wide from a corner.

Whyke failed to add to their tally, and were made to pay with two minutes left when Lucas Goldsmith's shot came back off the keeper and top scorer James Street was on hand to poke the ball home.

Man of match was Goldsmith.

WITTERING: Sam C, Hawkins, Standing, Cheeseman, Clark, Montegue, Street, Goldsmith.

UNDER-NINE

Midhurst and Easebourne 0 Worthing Minors Youth 2

This was a tight match with both teams trying to play a passing game but both defences playing well.

In the second half, Worthing took advantage of the slope and scored early on.

Midhurst made a valiant effort to get back on terms with Larry Moir going close with a header. But another goal from Worthing threaded through a crowded defence from a corner made it 2-0.

MIDHURST: Georgiou, Largan, Griffiths, Coulson, Lambert, Jefferies, Moir, Goodwin, LeGrave.

Predators 9 Highdown 1

Predators took until the second half to turn their dominance into goals such was the resilliant defending and some great goalkeeping from the Highdown keeper.

Corbin Darcy's five goals made him man of the match. Olie Hambleton scored two and James Drake and Ollie Martin helped themselves to a goal apiece.

Smithy played some brilliant balls from the back, while Miller and Cropanese were rocks. O'Hagan and Drake were superb in the middle.

PREDATORS: Smith, Cropanese, Miller, Drake, Martin, Hambleton, Darcy. O'Hagen.
