TEN intrepid cyclists, including boxer Alan Minter, raised more than £9,000 for charity, with a journey of epic proportions.
In three days they cycled from Littlehampton to Paris and back again, covering more than 220 miles in aid of the Chestnut Tree House children's hospice.
Andy Sleeman, who owns and runs Spokes bike shop in Beach Road, Littlehampton, was a leading force behind organising the trip.
He said the route had taken them along old railways tracks and through traditional villages.
"Going through the French villages was like stepping back in time to the 1940s!," he added.
He handed over a cheque for £9,230 on Monday, all of which was raised by the journey, which took place in August.
Ali Unsted, community fundraising manager at Chestnut Tree, said: " We are so grateful for the support that we receive within our local community.
She added that organisers had worked very hard both to put on, and complete, the challenge.
