A MAN and a dog have died after being struck by a train near Christ's Hospital, police have confirmed.
The accident happened near Itchingfield crossing, at around 12.45pm today (Monday July 21), a British Transport Police spokesperson said.

Southern Railway said the 11.11am Southampton to Horsham train was in collision with the man and the dog.

The Arun Valley line between Bognor and Horsham has been closed while police carry out their investigation.

A bus service has replaced the Bognor to Horsham service. Trains from London are terminating at Horsham.

Next of kin have not been informed.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
