'ARE they real?' That was the question on everyone's lips when they passed two mannequins in a Horsham dress shop.
The statuesque models were actually two school friends from Burgess Hill School for Girls who made passers-by jump out of their skins when they briefly came to life and changed position.
Jasmin Watson, 14, and Catherine Carpenter, 15, raised more than £1,633 for children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent by their enterprising stunt at La Vida in Piries Place on Saturday, October 11. They also posed at Ju Ju in Brighton.
Catherine, who bravely fought cancer after having a kidney removed, wanted to do something to say thank you for all the care and support she received.
The two friends came up with the mannequin idea after looking at an old photograph album and spotting a picture of Jasmin's mother Jane who did the same stunt in Dorothy Perkins in Haywards Heath in 1986 to raise money for vital laser equipment to help cancer patients at Cuckfield Hospital.
