THIS week, reader Pat Armstrong sent in some images she found in a book at her late mother’s house for our Down Memory Lane feature.

“I think these pictures of Bognor Regis were taken around the turn of the 20th century,” wrote Pat.

“They are just a few of 32 views from a book published by R Briant Burgess of Bognor which I found while clearing out my late mother’s house in Dorset.

“By the message in the front of the book, it was given to her by relatives, but whether they lived in the area or were just holidaying, I don’t know.

“I was born and bred in Dorset, but moved to this area in 1978 and when my mother died I inherited the book, so in effect it has returned home!

“Any information on when possibly these pictures were taken and what happened to some of the places would be appreciated. I find them fascinating, especially the beach scenes and the huts.”

Anyone who can help to identify the images, or has images they would like to see featured in Down Memory Lane, can email vintage@chiobserver.co.uk.
