Drugs raids on homes
POLICE have raided homes in Burgess Hill, Hurstpierpoint and Hassocks as part of a campaign to tackle drug dealers.
So far five raids have taken place by Burgess Hill police which has included two in Hurstpierpoint, one in Hassocks and two in Burgess Hill. The most recent house raid happened on Friday July 11 and police say the raids are set to continue.
Four people have been arrested and evidence of drugs, supply and cultivation has been present at various addresses.
Burgess Hill police have instigated Operation Community with the aims of identifying drug dealers, removing illegal drugs from the community and reducing associated crime.
Leaflets are being delivered through the letterboxes of homes in the areas where warrants are carried out and posters headed Drugs Destroy will be distributed in public places around the town.
