Mid Sussex residents have the opportunity to influence the way dogs are controlled in the district through a council-led consultation.
Under the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act, local authorities now have more power over dog control and the council wants to know how local residents would like to see these powers used.

The district council is running a public consultation until April 30.

The public will have the chance to give their opinion on whether dogs should be kept on leads in Mid Sussex parks, if there should be restrictions on the number of dogs one person can walk and if an authorised officer should order dogs to be put on leads.

Residents can inform Mid Sussex District Council of their views on the future of dog control by filling in an online questionnaire at https://doitonline.midsussex.gov.uk/officeforms/dogcontrolorders.ofml

Alternatively residents can email clean.neighbourhoods@midsussex.gov.uk or write to David Harper, Parks and Street Scene, Mid Sussex District Council, Oaklands, Oaklands Road, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, RH16 1SS.
