Last year's Gold group completed their assessed expedition in the Lake District and succeeded in climbing Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England. The Silver group completed expeditions on the South Downs and the New Forest.
The silver award
scheme is suitable for young people aged 15 plus, either as a continuation of the scheme for those who have already achieved bronze or as direct entry for young people new to Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
The Gold award is suitable for young people aged 16 plus, again as a continuation of the scheme or as direct entry.
An introductory evening will be held at the Albemarle Centre, Haywards Heath, on October 22, starting at 7pm for those interested in Silver, and 8pm for those interested in Gold.
Team Leader Claire Denby said: "This is a great opportunity for young people to develop some key life skills while enjoying and challenging themselves."
There are places available for young people living in the Haywards Heath area, including surrounding villages. Participants will meet weekly at the Albemarle Centre on Wednesday evenings.
