New mayor for Haywards Heath

Haywards Heath has a new Mayor following the annual meeting of the town council on Monday.
Councillors voted to appoint Margaret Baker to the post, replacing outgoing mayor Richard Goddard.
Cllr Baker, previously the deputy mayor, has represented Heath ward on the town council since 2004.
She said: "I am delighted that Councillors have put their faith in me to take up this important role and I look forward to representing the town and fulfilling the job of mayor to the best of my ability.
"It is a true honour to be mayor of the town which I have lived in for most of my life"
Jonathan Ash-Edwards, who was elected a councillor last year, was appointed as deputy mayor.
He said: "It is a privilege to have been appointed deputy mayor. There are a great many challenges and opportunities for the town in the coming months and I look forward to playing my part in helping the town respond to them."
The mayor's charity for the year will be the Mid Sussex branch of the Parkinson Disease Society.
