POLICE in Mid Sussex are appealing for help from the community to improve the quality of life for residents.
Chief Inspector Chris Ball hopes to set up 18 neighbourhood panels in the area, who will meet with police to discuss any local issues.
Neighbourhood teams in all the towns have been actively promoting the idea of the panels and some have already been started.
Chris Ball said: "We cannot solve all the issues ourselves and we work in partnership with other agencies but more importantly the public."
The panel will consist of 10 to 15 local residents and some will seek the assistance of resident groups, local action teams and some will be new groups.
They will be provided with local crime trends and will be asked to identify three priorities to be tackled.
