A NEW girls team from Chichester was among sides who enjoyed a mini hockey tounament at Chichester Priory Park.

In addition to the under-ten girls, Chichester had an under-ten boys and an under-eight side.

The under-eights had to play without senior player Alex Pendle, needed by the higher age group.

They moved the ball around the pitch well with everyone keen to get involved.

Ellie Shaw zoomed around the field, as did Mitchell George.

With only one loss, the worn-out under-eights could hold their heads high.

The under-ten boys were a force to be reckoned with – after a slow start.

They lost their first game, but in their second, James Palmer and Louis Gibbon worked well together and moved the ball quickly to Harley.

Pacey had a strong tournament, giving 100 per cent and scoring some brilliant goals.

Albert Burgess played well at the back.

Against Havant, Chichester had one of their best games. James Stemp scored a cracking goal.

The under-ten girls were playing their first tournament together. They were confident from the start.

Against Chichester boys, they went ahead but ended losing 2-1.

Organisers praised everyone who helped make the event a successful one enjoyed by all the youngsters who took part.
