SELSEY ladies' winter nine-hole weekly stableford is drawing to an end.

Sylvia Carter is racing ahead and hoping to retain the trophy.

She came in first this week, scoring 15 points on count back from Joan Bramer.

Frost reduced Selsey's veterans' 18-hole stableford to a 14-hole shotgun event.

Roger Browell was again in good form, winning with 31 points in section one. Second was Tony Terry (28 points).

In section two, first was Nigel Osbourne (29 points). Second was Derek Wilgoss (28).

Section three was won by John Napper (22) on count back from John Kirkby.

Selsey golfers are praising conditions on the course – in particular the greens, thanks to excellent course management, reflected in good scores again for the men's greensomes stableford.

Low handicappers Craig Newman and Ian Glew started and finished with birdies, scoring 44 points to win the day.

Second were Pete Terry and Dennis Sanderson on 41 points

Bognor GC's ladies' section held a stableford competition.

RESULTS: Silver: H Tidy 37pts, L Colvin 36, S Sargent 34 (countback), P Leach 34.; Bronze A: S Doughty 42, L Quinton 39, J Ostrom 37; Bronze B: L Starr 32, S Lee 29, M Moore 26.
Vets: M Hardy 38, A Coupe 27.
