The clock is ticking down to the 17th Chichester Priory 10k road race.
The race has traditionally been held in February but has now been switched to take place on Sunday, October 7.

More than 1,000 runners have already entered and those numbers will mushroom over the next five weeks.

Road race committee chairman Graham Jessop was keen to stress this race replaces the February 2008 event.

"Yes, it is the same race, same place and same route – it's just a different date," Jessop said.

"It will again appeal to club athletes, recreational runners and first-timers. You will be assured of a warm welcome and, based on comments from runners in previous years, an extremely well-organised event."

Application forms are available from various leisure centres including the Westgate Leisure Centre.

They can also be downloaded by clicking here.

Organisers the Rotary Club of Chichester are again grateful for sponsorship from Volkswagen dealer Peter Cooper and Brooks, the international sports shoe company.

The race starts at 11am from the Chichester Festival Theatre.

Jessop said: "The Chichester Priory 10k regularly features as one of the top races to be staged in the UK so we would urge you to hurry and enter."
