Residents of Angel Street are pressing for urgent action to relieve the lorry nightmare through Petworth.
Last month they told councillors new signage designed to free the town centre of gigantic lorries had worsened the problem.

Confusing signs at the bottom of Kingspit Lane were sending lorries along Angel Street and through the town.

Now John M
organ said although one sign had been removed, there were still misleading signs close to the Welldiggers pub.

Tony Sneller told fellow councillors, "These heavy lorries are shaking Petworth to bits."

Gordon Allan, the town council's representative on the lorry routes steering committee, and West Sussex county councillor Chris Duncton have now agreed to tour the lorry route with Mr Morgan.
