Residents of Heathfield Park in Midhurst were invited to an exhibition of paintings by Daphne Boddington at a fundraising evening in aid of Help for Heroes.
The paintings reflected scenes of war in Iraq and Afghanistan, where Mrs Boddington's son is a serving helicopter pilot.

Wine and canapes were served during the evening, which raised £350.

The Rev Marcus Ronchetti is to hold another Help for He
roes event in the parish church later this year when the paintings will again be exhibited and wine and canapes served.

There will also be a recital of poetry by Siegried Sassoon, Wilfred Owen, Kipling, Ted Hughes and others.

The readings will be given by Susan Ford and Dominic Singleton with other friends who are also actors.
