A couple from Upperton, near Petworth, hosted a lunch for 70 people – accompanied by almost as many dogs – after a fundraising bluebell walk they organised for Canine Partners.
The walk, which had a choice of two distances, raised £2,000 for the assistance dogs charity. Mr and Mrs Pope hold the event every two years.

Allen Parton with Endal, Canine Partners' renowned four-footed flag-bearer, were among guests at the lunch, with others who benefit from an assistance dog trained by the charity at its centre at Heyshott.

Budgens supermarket in Midhurst helped the proceeds along by giving Mr and Mrs Pope a special discount on food and drink items for the lunch.
