CARTOON heroes is the theme of this year's fete and flower show at Rogate which takes place on Saturday, August 2 from 2pm to 5pm.
All visitors are encouraged to go along as their favourite cartoon character, with a prize for the best.

This is the traditional annual event when Rogate gathers to raise money for its village hall and recreation ground.

And the fete promises
larks and action all afternoon for all the family and, when stamina fails, refreshments are available from the food court, with its teas and cupcakes, barbecue, beer tent and ice cream stand.

Featuring this year will be performing llamas, wacky horse races, Canine Partners' dog displays, children's races, boat rides and games, ham radio, as well as old favourites such as the bric-a-brac stall, book stall, vintage vehicles, cakes and produce, local crafts, bowls, rifle range, chuck an egg, raffle (prizes include £200 and a spa day at Champneys), wellie throwing, kick-a-goal, fairground and many other side shows. Liss Band will be playing throughout the afternoon.

The flower show will once more parade Rogate's finest vegetables, plants and flower arrangements, while in the same marquee children, photographers and cooks will display their artistic and culinary skills, vying for the top prize. Entry forms are available from the village shop.

Entrance is by donation. After the fete festivities will continue in The White Horse pub by the recreation ground, with barbecue and live music until midnight.
