The Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup for the British Open Polo Championship got under way at Cowdray Park at the
weekend when crowds turned out to
see the opening matches in the most important pro-am tournament in the world at 22-goal handicap.
There were wins for Broncos, the Milland-based team of the Marquis of Milford Haven, Ellerston, based at Stedham, Apes Hill Club Barbados
whose team is based at Burningfold near Dunsfoldin Surrey, and Azzurra, based at Ascot.

Entry for spectators is £10 for a car, which includes the driver and one adult passenger. All extra adults are £5 each and children under 12 are free.
