Willie Post and his grandson Ryan proved green fingers were definitely in the family genes when they both won first prizes at Northchapel Vegetable and Flower Show.
Eleven-year-old Ryan has been gardening with his grandfather since he was a toddler and is so keen he now has his own allotment.

Ryan's speciality is onions and was delighted to win first prize for his entry in this section. His grandfather also won a first prize in a separate onion category.

There was strong competition in all categories at the show on the village green at the weekend with more than 300 entries.

The main prize winners were: Vegetable Cup – James Smith; Flower Cup – Ernie Talman; Fruit Cup – Neil Harding; Sweet Pea Cup – John Marshall; Children's Cup – Maya Solly; Flower Arrangers Salver – Ruth Vivian; Trophy for a petite arrangement – Margaret Talman; Valerie Moss Trophy for the most scented rose – Ruth Vivian; Preserve plate – Ollie Bell.

The cup for the most points gained in the show was won by James Smith and the salver for the best individual entry was won by Ernie Talman for his onions.
