The director of the Cowdray Farm Shop has been impressed by the work of three Chichester College students.
In fact, Fiona Hamilton-Fox was so pleased with the business studies students' work she has presented them with a Cowdray Christmas Hamper.
Ewelina Szymanska, Tugce Arda and Kris Martin arrived at Cowdray Farm Shop after being set an assignment
by business decision making teacher Sandy Hood. He told them to put forward proposals to help establish this business at its new home in Easebourne.
"The class assignment divided the students into groups who visited several businesses in the area," said Mr Hood, "they were required to visit the local businesses and discuss a specific aspect where their work can assist decision making."
These three students discussed their brief with the farm shop director Fiona Hamilton-Fox in September, where they learned the shop had opened the previous month.
Following their research and analysis Ewelina, Tugce and Kris produced a report with clear recommendations and two weeks ago Mrs Hamilton-Fox went into Chichester College to listen to their presentation and receive a copy of the report.
She said: "I am impressed with the recommendations put forward by the students and will look at putting many of them into practice."
In fact she was so impressed she invited the students to return to the shop last week and receive a special prize.
Afterwards Tugce said: "I am very proud they will use our ideas. I'll add it to my CV."
Mr Hood said: "When students work on projects for local businesses they learn about commercial pressures and have to make their work relevant to the needs of that business.
"Ewelina, Tugce and Kris have worked hard, visited Cowdray Farm Shop and North Street in Midhurst and put together some excellent ideas."
