Despite uncertainties over the future of the Grange Centre at Midhurst, it's all systems go in the gym where new state-of-the-art equipment has just been installed.
The Grange received a £15,000 grant from Chichester District Council and has used the money to buy nine new Technogym exercise machines for fitness fans.
"It's all part of our commitment to keeping a positive attitude in
providing new activities
at the centre," said gym manager Mike Boyce.
"These machines will give the gym a fresh look and, more importantly, enable the gym users to add more variety to their workouts."
The Grange has also invested £5,500 in buying ten Spinning bikes and training four instructors to show people how to use them.
"Spinning is a low-impact indoor group cycling activity led by
an instructor," explained Mr Boyce.
"And it's suitable for everyone, from beginners to the experienced
exerciser."
He said the new gym equipment was a strong indication of the
management team's commitment to actively promoting the Grange as a going concern.
"We are providing new and exciting activities for the community as a
whole, while awaiting the final decisions on the new centre."
