Milland branch of the NSPCC held its third annual tennis tournament, attracting players from across the area.
Court organisers invited up to eight people to pay and play, pairing up with four others to play five games against four different couples each time.

The four people who ended play with the highest scores went on to a final after lunch.

The finalists were Sue Stathers and Judith Turner, who beat Madeleine Oram and Chris Taylor.

The NSPCC was generous in its prizes, with patio roses for the court organisers, a tin of tennis balls for the winners of each court and prizes for the finalists as well, all of which was much appreciated by those who took part.

A number of charity tennis tournaments take place in the area throughout the year, and one of the next will be held next month in Fernhurst.

It will be on Monday, June 23 in aid of Haslemere Stroke Club and Discover Drama.

Anyone who would like to organise some players in aid of the charities is asked to call 01428 652399 for more information.
