A display in memory of all those who died when Petworth Boys School was bombed during the second world war is to be set up by the Wings Remembrance Museum at Redhill aerodrome.
And now curator Daniel Hunt is asking for photographs and memorabilia of the old school together with any memories of the bombing.
"A relative of mine, George Charles Hunt was killed on September 29, l942 when the school was hit by a German bomb
, killing 28 of the pupils and several teachers and staff," said Mr Hunt.
"With this is mind the museum is endeavouring to set up a dedicated display within the Wings Museum in memory of all those killed on that tragic day which hit the population so hard.
"We would be very interested in hearing from anyone who might have any memorabilia that could be used in the display. We would also encourage anybody who may have personal recollection of the incidernt to get in touch with us."
Mr Hunt can be contacted at the museum on 01737 243560 or by writing to Wings Museum, Hanger 9, Redhill Aerodrome, Kings Mill Lane, Redhill.
