EXTRA wheels – and a new look – have arrived at St Richard's Hospital.
Its charitable trust has been rebranded with a fresh logo.

And the new-look organisation is celebrating after buying 65 wheelchairs – doubling the number at the hospital.

Lesley-Anne Lloyd, head of fundraising, said: "We have a charitable fund whose purpose is to support patients, families and staff by providing equipment which may not otherwise be provided by the NHS or from other sources.

"It gives us great pleasure to buy the wheelchairs, knowing they will transport patients in comfort many hundreds of miles every week.

"All the wheelchairs will be branded with the charitable trust's new logo which shows a friendly red figure with a heart.

"We have designed this logo to show that the charitable trust is at the very heart of the hospital and we are using the strap line 'love your hospital – we do!'.

"Our rebranding was developed by Michael Hendry of Blueprint Design and we are so grateful to him for designing our new look.

"It is an image we hope will make our charitable trust visible both within the hospital and beyond and which will encourage more donations so we can provide the 'icing on the cake' which we can only achieve with the support and friendship of our local community who do so much for us – thank you."

Facilities manager Chris Scott said patients and visitors will be pleased with the new wheelchairs.

He said: "These new wheelchairs turn on a sixpence and are very easy to manoeuvre. I think visitors will find pushing them almost effortless and there should always be plenty available in our reception areas."
