Harvest fare is being distributed around Northchapel, Lurgashall and Ebernoe by some of their youngest citizens.
The villages are the catchment area for Northchapel Primary School, where pupils and their families have been decorating shoeboxes and filling them with a feast of goodies.

The boxes, of which there are around 50, will be hand-delivered to elderly members of their communities.

Headteacher Claire Murphy said they had been filled with non-perishable food and would be taken round by the pupils next week.

"We didn't ask for anything fresh because of organising the deliveries. So there are sauces, pastas, rices, tinned vegetables, soups – a massive variety."

The boxes were a colourful feature of the school's harvest celebrations at St Michael's Church, Northchapel.
