Fernhurst Choral Society, which meets each Monday in the village hall, is in full swing for the season.
The first concert is on Saturday, November 17, 7.30pm in St Luke's church, Grayshott in aid of the Haslemere and District branch of the Arthritis Research Society.

It will include the first part of Handel's Messiah, anthems by Mendelssohn, Brahms and Lotti and a few seasonal songs.

Tickets are £10 and include a glass of wine after the programme. For more details call Sylvia Purchon on 01428 642775.

The society has also started the programme for its annual visit to the Petersfield Festival.

This Saturday, at Petersfield Methodist Church under the direction of Paul Spicer, it will join the first of several multi-choir rehearsals in preparation for the event.

Paul Spicer is a superb conductor and the choral society considers it a privilege to sing under his leadership.

He conducts many different and prestigious choirs and is Professor of Choral Conducting at both the Royal College of Music and the Birmingham Conservatoire.
