Graphic designer Polly Warman from Midhurst will be going on the trip of a lifetime when she travels to South Africa for 11 days to help renovate a school in a poor local community and refurbish their football pitch.
At the same time she will also be raising money for cutting-edge bowel cancer research in the UK.
Polly, 26, who works as a graphic designer at Roc Design in Arundel, said: "The project will involve an 11-day trip to renovate a remote school and a
football pitch – and will be developed in partnership with the local population.
"It will give the children and their parents the chance to continue their education in their own village, close to their families, rather than being obliged to move away.
"The projects are based on the success of last year's projects which raised more than £100,000 for bowel cancer research and left a lasting legacy for the wonderful local community in Brazil and South Africa," said Polly
Before she can embark on this event next March, she will need to raise a minimum of £4,000 for the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK.
The Bobby Moore Fund was set up in 1993 with the aim of raising money for cutting-edge bowel cancer research and raising awareness of the high-risk symptoms of bowel cancer.
