FOR the ninth year private gardens in Fittleworth will be open to the public over the bank holiday to raise money for the parish church.
This year 13 gardens will be open on Sunday, May 4, and on Monday, May 5, the Mill House garden opening will make the total 14.

Gardens range from large and formal to small and secluded.

Several command panoramic views across the Rother Valley to the South Downs and beyond.

Each year the Open Gardens Trail attracts visitors from as far away as East Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey.

Tickets are available from the village hall and enable visitors to enjoy all gardens open on the day.

They cost £5 per person with under-12 free during opening times from 2pm to 5.30pm.

Teas, ice creams and ploughman's lunches will be offered by Fittleworth playgroup between 12.30pm and 2pm behind the village hall.

There will also be the chance to buy produce and crafts.
