A teenager driver has died after he was involved in a head-on smash near Fernhurst.
The crash happened yesterday (Sunday, November 23) on the A286 at Henley Hill, just south of the village, at 10.49am when a BMW travelling north towards Fernhurst and a Volvo travelling in the opposite direction were involved in the head-on crash.

The 17-year-old driver of the BMW, from the Haslemere area, died as a result of his injuries.

The 47-year-old female driver of the Volvo, who is also from Haslemere, suffered a broken ankle and was taken to St Richard's Hospital.

Three passengers in the Volvo - an adult and two children aged four and 13 - suffered serious but non life threatening injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact police on 0845 60 70 999, quoting Operation Stapley.
