The leaders of Petworth Vision are running a competition to design a new gateway to attract visitors to the town.
The competition follows the publishing of the Vision for Petworth in 2014 by Petworth Vision Limited, the community interest company set up to maintain the unique character of the town.
The company developed a series of short, medium and long term initiatives under three main headings: creating a sense of place; supporting a vibrant retail economy and co-ordinated management.
The competition is the first project aimed at creating a better sense of place and is aimed at improving the visitor experience on arrival in the town.
Petworth Vision Limited wants to attract interest from qualified and experienced professional designers and architects with the aim of choosing two candidates to develop their own design.
They will be chosen after submitting a portfolio of work and each will receive an honorarium of £1,000.
Full details of the competition can be obtained by registering an interest by 5.30pm on May 16 2016 by sending your details to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Those who register their interest will then receive the written brief and supporting information by May 17.
