AROUND 3000 people flocked to Petworth for the tenth annual fete in the park
Tony Sneller, chairman of Petworth Community Association which organises the event, said: “It was a really good day and we had a lot of great feedback from people saying it was one of the best so far with a really good buzz.”
He said it was primarily a community event aimed to bring people together, but it also provided an opportunity for charities to set out their stall for their own fundraising.
There was a wealth of entertainment on offer including music from Petworth Town Band, South Downs Ukelele Orchestra and Celtic Simbel as well as demonstrations from The Harvesters with their Appalachian flatfoot dancing.
In the main arena there was a car and tractor parade, finals of the dog show and the Chiddingfold, Leconfield and Cowdray Hunt brought along their hounds.
In the evening the entertainment continued with a concert from The Fabulous Fug Band and Kev Welch.
