THERE was an alien invasion at Northchapel Primary School when Book Week took on an intergalactic theme.

It was made all the more exciting for pupils as head teacher Helen Coleman’s new book My teacher is an Alien was read each day during the week and they took part in a competition to design the front cover.

“I am now on the hunt for an illustrator and a printer who might be able to help the school to get my book made,” she said.

“The children had a brilliant time developing their imagination and investigating other worlds through books and stories,” she added.

Children and staff also had their annual dress up day, ‘alien’ style.

“The costumes and creativity were brilliant and the staff threw themselves into it as well,” said Helen.
