WEST WITTERING’S annual sandcastle challenge is back, and everyone is invited to come and build a masterpiece.
The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) run the competition at West Wittering beach each year to promote architecture.
Prize-winning categories include the tallest structure, most technically daring, Life’s a Beach and the RIBA prize.
A RIBA spokesman said: “Whether you are a budding young sandcastle designer or someone with a little more experience, this will be your chance to show off your skills.”
Last year visitors came from as far as London for the challenge, but there were many locals too – and with professionals and families, there was a great variety of winners.
The event is on Saturday, August 17, and the building starts at 10.30am. The challenge is free to register and enter. Please call 0118 9874900 if you want to take part or clike here for more details.
