To get a car cleaned head down to Billingshurst Fire Station on Saturday, March 18 between 10am until 2pm.

There will also be firefighters charity car washes at Bognor Fire Station on Saturday, April 1, between 10am and 3pm, and at Horsham Fire Station on Saturday, March 4, from 10am until 2pm.

Richard Davy, station manager at Horsham, said: “Charity car wash events are always an amazing opportunity to meet with the local community in an informal environment, have a chat and give advice on how to stay safe whether this be in the home or on the road.

“Whilst cars are getting cleaned we will be offering the opportunity to familiarise people with AED devices. Public Access Defibrillators (PAD) are being installed across the county and by making people aware of how to use these devices, it could save a life.

“We hope to see many people there on the day and hope to raise a lot of money to support a charity very close to our hearts.”

The Fire Fighters Charity supports more than 5,000 beneficiaries a year and provides treatment, physical or psychological, to firefighters who witness the devastating effects that serious incidents can have. However, the charity solely relies on donations from the general public as they do not receive government funding.
