Bosham will be playing in the Sussex League again next season after their promotion was confirmed by the ground grading committee.

The Robins make a return to division three – which they were founder members of in 1983-84 – for the first time since demotion in 2011-12.

League officials were ‘very impressed’ with the necessary work carried out, including new perimeter rails, dugouts, resizing of the away dressing room and refurbishment of the referee’s room – largely assisted by the club’s successful Sport England Inspired Facilities award.

Work to modernise and decorate the interior clubhouse, toilets, kitchen and an overhaul of the electrics is ongoing, and scheduled to be completed in June.

County league officials also confirmed Bosham’s reserves would play in the reserve section west in 2014-15.

The club are thrilled to be back in the Sussex League set-up and delighted to have both teams in it, confident that will make the playing side even stronger.

It’s been a magnificent season for the Walton Lane club, who also gained their FA Charter Standard status, and are reinvesting in youth, with sides at under-13 and under-16 level entered in to the Arun & Chichester Youth League for 2014-15.

An open trials day is planned in the ummer to attract players for the under-13s and 16s.

They are also keen to hear from anyone who may be able to lend a hand next season behind the scenes, as with promotion and added infrastructure comes more tasks around the club. If you feel you can spare some time on a Saturday and or Sunday morning, they’d love to hear from you.

Sponsorship and advertising packages to suit a range of budgets are now available for businesses keen to gain affinity to the club.

The West Sussex premier-division champions’ trophy will be formally presented at the end-of-season awards evening at Bosham Village Hall on Saturday, June 7 (from 7pm, all welcome).
