COSTA Coffee has finally opened its doors in Midhurst’s North Street with new manager Russell Hopwood at the helm.
It was a return home for Mr Hopwood aged 28 who was educated in the town and he has recruited seven members of staff from the area to help him launch the newest Costa Coffee venture.
“The opening went very well,” he told the Observer, “and I was very chuffed with the amount of people who came in.
“We went for a low key opening and I spent the day introducing myself to people.”
Costa Coffee will be open seven days a week in Midhurst and Mr Hopwood said he hoped to encourage other businesses in the town to open their doors on Sundays, particularly through December.
“I hope to hold a meeting here at Costa Coffee with other traders in the town soon and talk to them about Sunday opening,” he said.
He has set up a community notice board in the coffee shop offering people the chance to advertise charity and community events.
