HASLEMERE traders have launched a campaign to make shoppers aware it’s business as usual despite major disruption caused by gas works in the town centre.
“Don’t be put off by the ‘road closed’ signs – Haslemere shops retain their warm welcome, service, great products and competitive prices,” said spokesman Heather Matthews.
Shops are offering weekly prizes as well as bargains and special offers to remind customers they are fully open for business during t gas main replacement works taking place in the town centre.
Many shops are displaying ‘Keep Calm and Carry on Shopping in Haslemere’ campaign posters as a further reminder.
Just one road will be ‘access only’ throughout the gas work as it moves along Lower Street, between the High Street and Tanners Lane. Shepherds Hill (A286) will be affected while access is restricted off Lower Street.
