ANOTHER high-street chain has gone into administration – this time film rental firm Blockbuster.
The firm has stores in Market Road, Chichester, and Bognor Regis’ High Street.
This comes as HMV staff in Chichester are left in limbo over their jobs, and Jessops staff lost their jobs last week when the company went bust.
HMV’s administrator Deloitte has also taken on Blockbuster today (January 16), and will handle the day-to-day running of the company while attempts are made to find a buyer.
The chain has 528 stores employing 4,190 staff.
Deloitte said Blockbuster had been affected by competition from internet-based film services.
The stores will continue trading while the administrators try to find a buyer.
