New motorbike store in Bognor as training company expands

A motorcycle training centre in Bognor has expanded by buying the shop next door as a motorbike clothing store.

Bognor mayor, Cllr Eileen Anderson, officially opened the new premises on Chichester Road on Saturday (September 8), marking a new era for the business.

Thomas Motorcycle Training expanded its business with new bikes, new accessories and new premises.

The launch day on September 8 was popular with the locals, and more than 30 people turned up.

Jerry Thomas, 39, who owns the family-run business, grew up in Chichester but has lived in Bognor for 20 years. He said: “I’ve been running the business for two years and it would be great to keep expanding every couple of years as things are going well.

“The launch day was fantastic, we got so much support from students and ex-students who came along to celebrate with us, and the mayor sat on a motorbike to pose for a picture which was great!”

Mr Thomas is keen to help people get on to motorbikes in a safe way and offers advanced training so they can do just that.

He aims to introduce people from all walks of life to riding and will offer free taster training sessions to help people decide whether bikes are for them in a safe and secure setting.

Taster sessions take place in approved training areas and Mr Thomas thinks it is a great way for people to see if motorcycles are for them.

Thomas Motorcycle Training has also been recommended by the ‘GET ON’ government initiative, which aims at getting more people safely onto motorbikes.

He said: “It’s a privilege to be asked to be part of this elite training group and we look forward to helping people to get safely onto two wheels. We want people to be at their best for their two-wheel test.”
