THE MIDHURST Tourist Information Centre (TIC) has moved next door into Chichester District Council’s (CDC) area office at the bottom of North Street.
It means residents and visitors can access council services and tourist information under one roof.
In December, the council’s cabinet agreed to look into new ways of offering tourist information in Midhurst and officers are working with businesses, residents and other key groups on the project.
In the mean time the district council’s cabinet agreed the information centre could move next door into the area office, making immediate savings.
Officers are looking into three options on how Midhurst’s TIC and its current building can be used in the future.
The council will be developing the options with key partners including the South Downs National Park Authority, Midhurst Town Council, Midhurst Tourism Partnership, Midhurst Vision Group, businesses and residents and Metamorphosis, which offers specialist retail training.
Officers will look into the options and report back to the Cabinet by June 2012.
