Firefighters from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service have been kept busy in the Midhurst area attending two incidents in two days.
In the early hours of this morning (Thursday, 16), a car overturned in Highfield Lane, Liphook. The driver, who was not trapped in the car, was treated by paramedics who were called to the scene at around 3.30am.
The rescue service was also called to a chimney fire at a Petworth pub on the A285 on Wednesday, May 15. The fire was out on arrival, but the owners were given advice.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has attended more than 150 chimney fires in the last year.
The problem is believed to have flared up because of the long winter and expensive fuel bills, prompting people to turn to their efficient woodburners and open fires.
