FOR years Chichester Area Talking News (CATN) has been providing news and community updates to blind and visually impaired people in the Chichester, Bognor Regis and Midhurst and Petworth areas.

Much of that news comes from the pages of the Observer and from now on we will be working even more closely together, publishing a link to the online version of the bulletin on our website.

The online bulletin is not just for the visually impaired, it can also be used by those with learning difficulties or just readers who want a quick summary of the local news from the last fortnight.

As well as news, it also includes village updates, features and an information desk.

“Ever since I visited the CATN team last year and heard about the great work they do I have been hoping we could work more closely,” said chief reporter Sheena Campbell.

“I am delighted we are now publishing a link to the bulletin on our website to raise more awareness of the great work of this local charity.”

CATN membership is free for all blind and visually impaired people in the area, with CDs or memory sticks containing the bulletin posted out fortnightly.

More information on how to register, or volunteer, is available at catn.org.uk/contact or by calling 01243 775050.
